Schwab Exaktplaner®: a grader in miniature format

We put on our thinking caps in order to design this completely new and multi-functional mini-grader. In doing so we have not simply produced a smaller version of an existing grader, but have developed a totally new machine according to completely new principles. The result is a work machine on three wheels which can be extended telescopically and is at the same time incredibly manoeuvrable and mobile.

The length of the grader can be extended hydraulically from 4.50 m to 5.70 m, thereby creating a very precise grading capacity without sacrificing manoeuvrability. Thanks to its special construction it has a turning radius of only 2.5 m. In spite of its overall weight of just 2.8 tonnes the Schwab Exaktplaner® with its powerful 60 hp engine is currently one of the most powerful machines available in horticulture and landscaping.

The Exaktplaner’s three-point hydraulic system with power take-off shaft permits the attachment of all kinds of accessory equipment, such as a reciprocating harrow or rotary harrow, a rotary cultivator, Vertidrain or fertiliser spreader, thus removing the need for a tractor on site. It can be used to prepare all kinds of foundations in road and path construction and paved areas, as well as works above underground garages and other areas which cannot bear heavy loads, the construction and grading of base courses in sports ground construction and riding arenas and even the fine grading of lawn areas in larger gardens, swimming pools and public parks. When the grader is in the extended position its length of 5.70 m, combined with the long axle length and the all-wheel drive permits the grading work to be undertaken efficiently and with maximum precision. A fully automatic laser and ultrasound attachment is available upon request which will guide the grading plate automatically.

The three-point hydraulics and power take-off shaft permit the attachment of accessories such as rotary cultivator, reciprocating harrow, excavator and lawn-care machines.

The 60 hp Perkins diesel engine mounted in the Schwab Exaktplaner® provides sufficient reserve performance to guarantee rapid and efficient work.

The front-wheel drive in connection with the articulated steering permits crab operations. This ensures that you can always drive with the front wheel on the area which has already been graded, thus increasing the working speed.

The additional articulated steering permits the machine to be operated in corners and restricted spaces. It is very easy to circumvent obstacles and to turn the machine within a very small space, thanks to its turning radius of only 2.5 m.

This means that the Schwab Exaktplaner® is ideal for sports grounds, riding arenas, domestic gardens and even roof gardens when materials of all kinds need to be installed to a precise height.

The Schwab Exaktplaner® is so compact and manoeuvrable that difficult and precise work situations can be tackled with perfect accuracy, thus ensuring that final adjustments by hand are virtually eliminated in almost all cases. This makes the Exaktplaner a multi-functional working machine for small to medium-sized areas.

And since it weighs only 2.8 tonnes the Schwab Exaktplaner® can even be transported on a car trailer.
