Jumbo turf laying machine
V220 cm/ 86 inch Jumbo
Lay an entire stadium in a single day
Using the Jumbo turf-laying machine you can lay an entire football stadium in a single day. Nonetheless it exerts very little pressure n the ground. For more than ten years we have been using this unique technique and have laid the turf in hundreds of stadiums throughout Europe. The advantage is obvious: faster, more perfectly laid turf with fewer joins.
The fully hydraulic drive of the self-propelled turf-laying machine reacts smoothly to the steering commands of the drivers who can use the remote controls to steer the laying process by radio. One man operates the machine, while another controls the unrolling of the turf and ensures that it is laid without gaps, folds or breaks. The turf is laid in reverse, thus ensuring that the machine does not drive across the freshly laid turf. During the laying process the transport nets or foils are separated from the turf and rolled up. The machine itself runs on four rubber caterpillar tracks and covers an area of 2.53 m2. Even when loaded, the Schwab Jumbo laying machine exerts less pressure on the ground than a human foot and leaves no traces even on delicate lawn foundation soils. The 60 hp Kubota or Perkins diesel engine is more than adequate for the task and ensures that the work can be carried out quickly and safely. Since the engine only needs to operate at medium speed the noise level, environmental pollution and wear and tear are all kept to a minimum.
