40 Years of Schwab Turf Farms

We have been passionate about lawns for 40 years. We have been producing turf for the European Lawn Market since 1969. We have been doing it along with our Landscape and Sporting Company with the focus on Riding Grounds. Schwab is a family run company with many varied sites and departments. Our team comprises 25 specialists, who are planning, organising, sewing, caring, cultivating, shipping etc., and they are all at your complete disposal.

Our product range includes more than 300 varieties of turf which are grown over an area of 280 hectares (700 acres). We supply different roll widths, 40, 60 and 220 cm, as well as self-developed laying machines in any variety which suits your requirements. Through many years of providing premium quality grown onto mixed turfed bed, using the best grasses available, we have gained an enviable reputation in supplying to the International Premium Sport Market.

In order to integrate our main site Manor Haidhof, which lies in beautiful natural surroundings in an environmentally friendly way, we have planted great alleys and thousands of pinewood, biotopes, rain water cisterns and biological purification systems. We prepare our fields with respect to nature and try to take only as much from nature as we are able to return. This includes regular use of effective micro organisms, substrate and ecological fertilizer. Securing and enhancing soil richness is our premium goal. Billions of soil creatures and micro organisms determine the quality of our products. We do everything in order to secure, maintain and cultivate this soil ecosystem.

Each year, over a thousand young people, green keepers, technicians, apprentices, students and companies visit us. We consider it a great, responsible task to foster knowledge about lawns with regard to young people, attentiveness with respect to the soil and plants.

However, not only lawn itself is our passion. We have been continuously developing new and innovative products, based around the subject of lawns. Thus we introduced our Schwaben grid product line more than ten years ago, which is still considered state-of-the-art even today. This product enabled us for the first time to produce lawn-friendly, green, accessible surfaces. With our innovative Schwabengitter Ontop we can reinforce an existing lawn without substructure, leaving a fully usable lawn surface.

We have been developing our own specialist machines over many years for soil preparation and the laying of turf. Our large range of Graders, mechanical and manual laying machines, together with our professional range of manual tools are offered both for sale and on a rental basis.

We anticipate improving our knowledge from current research projects with regard to plant nutrition, substances for soil enhancement, effects of various grasses underlying various conditions and much more. This will enable further important inventions and improvements throughout the following years. We are very much looking forward to an innovative and successful future.
